Nicholson — Aman

Dr. Courtney Renee Aman of Roanoke Rapids and Dr. Eric Anthony Nicholson of Advance exchanged wedding vows during an outdoor ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Coral Bay Club in Atlantic Beach.


The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Aman of Roanoke Rapids. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Long Jr. of Roanoke Rapids and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Aman of Littleton.


The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John Nicholson of Advance. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Soracco and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nicholson.

Dr. Layne Wallace performed the nuptial ceremony.


Music for the ceremony was provided by the Crystal Coast Quartet of New Bern.


The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a Sonata mermaid silk slip dress from the Blue Willow collection by Anne Barge. The gown featured a beautiful lace overlay with scalloped edging on the bodice of the gown as well as on the low back that perfectly complemented the simple delicate straps. A Modern Trousseau Brooklyn belt with intricate diamonds in a beautiful floral pattern accented the gown.


For her headpiece, the bride wore a two-piece, two-tiered fingertip-length veil with delicate silk piping accented with elegant chantilly lace, also designed by Modern Trousseau.


For her bridal bouquet, the bride chose white hydrangeas, pink peonies and white roses with the stems wrapped in lace from her gown and accented with a sequined hummingbird pin given to her by her late great-aunt, Mrs. Faye Jones.


Miss Emily Aman of Roanoke Rapids served as her sister’s maid of honor. Mrs. Heather Cooke of Littleton, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Dr. Ashton Jeffreys of Graham, Dr. Cierra Piggott and Mrs. Brooke Powers, both of Roanoke Rapids, and Dr. Blaire Warren of Boone, all friends of the bride, and Miss Kelli Long of Roanoke Rapids, cousin of the bride.


Dr. Keith Nicholson of Louisville, Ky., brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Daniel Moore of Cary, Dr. Duy Nguyen of San Clemente, Calif., and Dr. Patrick Miller of Yadkinville, all friends of the bridegroom, Mr. Edwin Nicholson of Baldwinsville, N.Y., cousin of the bridegroom, and Mr. Christopher Languell and Mr. Cole Languell, both of Davidson and cousins of the bride.


Program attendant was Miss Greta Belsole of Hummelstown, Pa., cousin of the bride.


The bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance following the ceremony at the Coral Bay Club. Music was provided by the Jupiter Jones Band of Greenville.


Flowers were arranged by Flowers by Design by Ernest of Beaufort.


The wedding cake was designed and made by Douglass Ann Swanson of Beaufort.

The bride received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in May 2015 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She recently began a two-year orthodontic residency program in Louisville, Ky.


The bridegroom received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2011 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently practicing dentistry in Louisville, Ky.


After honeymooning in the Hawaiian Islands, the couple currently resides in Louisville, Ky.


The couple enjoyed numerous pre-wedding events given in their honor. As part of the wedding weekend, a bridal brunch was given in honor of Courtney and her bridesmaids on Friday, June 5, at the home of her parents in Emerald Isle. It was hosted by Mrs. Ann Languell, aunt of the bride, Mrs. Martha Long and Mrs. Barbara Aman, grandmothers of the bride, and Miss Emily Aman, sister of the bride. The bride chose this occasion to present gifts to her bridesmaids.


An after-rehearsal dinner and party were hosted by the bridegroom’s parents at Beaufort Grocery in downtown historic Beaufort.


In the months prior to the wedding, Courtney and Eric had the opportunity to celebrate with friends and family at multiple events.


A pig picking was given in honor of the bridal couple on March 28, 2015, in Pleasant Hill at the home of her uncle, Mr. Tommy Long and Ms. Lisa Cannon. Also hosting the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. John Whitley and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Jones.


A bridal shower was hosted by friends and family of the bride at the home of the bride’s parents in Roanoke Rapids on April 11, 2015. Hosts were Miss Kelli Long, Mrs. Brooke Powers, Mrs. Heather Cooke and Dr. Cierra Piggott.


A second shower was given by Dr. Blaire Warren and Dr. Ashton Jeffreys on April 18, 2015, at the home of the bride in Carrboro. Guests also attended a wine and design event together on that date.
